Information We Collect and Disclose
Foodoogle may collect personal information that you submit to us and may receive information about you from third parties. We may disclose personal and non-personal information to government or law enforcement officials or private parties when we reasonably believe disclosure is necessary to respond to claims or legal process, protect rights, interests, safety, or the public, prevent illegal or legally actionable activity, or comply with applicable laws and court orders.
Camera Access and Barcode Scanning
With your permission, Foodoogle accesses your device camera solely to scan product barcodes or capture food and ingredient information that you choose to analyze. Camera access occurs only when you use a camera-based feature. Foodoogle does not continuously monitor, record, or store your live camera feed. A detected barcode or an image you intentionally submit may be processed or transmitted to our service providers as needed to identify a product or provide the requested analysis. You can deny or revoke camera permission at any time through your device settings, although camera-based features will then be unavailable.
Health and Nutrition Information
Foodoogle provides ingredient, nutrition, calorie, and health-related information for general educational and informational purposes only. It is not medical advice and is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease or replace advice from a qualified healthcare professional. Product formulations, individual needs, allergies, and health conditions vary. You should verify product labels and consult a qualified healthcare professional before making decisions based on information provided by Foodoogle.
Product Data and Analysis Providers
Foodoogle may use third-party databases, artificial intelligence services, and other service providers to identify products and analyze barcodes, images, ingredients, and nutritional information. Relevant submitted information may be transmitted to these providers solely to deliver the feature you request. Third-party product information may be incomplete, outdated, or inaccurate, and Foodoogle does not guarantee its accuracy. Always confirm important information using the product packaging and manufacturer guidance.
Location Data
Foodoogle does not request, collect, or store your device’s precise location data. General location may be inferred from technical information such as an IP address where necessary for security, fraud prevention, legal compliance, or basic service operation.
How We Use Information
We may use collected information to personalize your experience, improve the app and customer service, process transactions, administer promotions or surveys, and send periodic emails. We only send marketing emails to people who have authorized contact. You may unsubscribe using the instructions included in each marketing email. Transactional email addresses may be used to provide order information and updates.
Retention
We keep information only as long as needed to provide Foodoogle, fulfill the purposes described in this policy, and meet legal or regulatory obligations. When information is no longer needed, we remove it or depersonalize it so it can no longer identify you.
Security and Payment Details
We use reasonable physical, electronic, and managerial safeguards, including secure servers and encrypted transmission, to protect personal information. Payment information is handled through secure payment providers and is not retained by Foodoogle after a transaction. No person, system, or encryption method is infallible, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Subscriptions and Renewals
Paid subscriptions may renew automatically at the price and interval disclosed at checkout unless canceled before the next renewal date. Payments and subscription billing are processed by our payment provider under its applicable terms and privacy practices. You may manage or cancel your subscription through the options available in Foodoogle. Cancellation stops future renewals but does not ordinarily provide a refund for a billing period that has already begun, except where required by law.
International Transfers
Information may be processed, transferred, viewed, or hosted in countries whose privacy laws differ from those where you live. We use appropriate safeguards where required by applicable law.
Access, Correction, and Deletion
You may contact us to request access to, correction of, restriction of, or deletion of your personal information, or to change communication preferences. Foodoogle will not discriminate against you for exercising a privacy right. We do not knowingly sell personal information of children under 16.
